Corinne R. Smith joined the firm as an associate in September 2015 and became partner in January 2017. She holds a B.A. in Art History and English Literature from the State University of New York College at Geneseo, and a J.D. with a certificate in Intellectual Property: Art and Museum Law from DePaul University College of Law. Before joining the firm, Corinne was a legal intern at Sotheby's in its Compliance Department, the Smithsonian Institution Office of the General Counsel, the Chicago History Museum, and the U.S. Army JAG Corps in its Contract and Fiscal Law Department. While in law school, she served as an Editor of Articles, Notes and Comments for the DePaul Law Review; president of the Art and Cultural Heritage Law Society; and a member of the National Cultural Heritage Law Moot Court Competition Board. Additionally, Corinne worked closely with distinguished research professor of law and cultural heritage law scholar, Patty Gerstenblith, as her research assistant. Together, they are co-authors of the Oxford Bibliographies articles, "Looting and the Antiquities Market." Prior to law school, Corinne worked as the Gallery Coordinator of the Lederer, Lockhart, and Bridge Galleries at SUNY Geneseo and as a curatorial intern at Olana State Historic Site in Hudson, New York.
